Our panda adoption program serves as a bridge between those who want to help pandas through panda adoption and the CCRCGP(China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Pandas). Please note that the donation will be made directly to the breeding center. We are very happy to answer your questions and help you contact the appropriate department in CCRCGP.
About CCRCGP
The China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) was established in 1982 to protect the giant pandas and their habitats. So far it is the largest giant panda research organization in the world.Through constant efforts, the CCRCGP has achieved significant research in the understanding of giant pandas. They have overcome the three 'hurdles' for the giant pandas, namely hard to mate, hard to breed and hard to survive. The number of pandas in captivity in CCRCGP has grown from several at the beginning of its establishment to more than 100 now.
Why Panda Adoption is one effective way to help pandas?
Now the scope the panda research in CCRCGP has gone far beyond the pandas in captivity. They have started to launch some programs that can help pandas in the wild in the long run such as training pandas and release them back to the wild. Though they get regular allocation of funds from government sectors, they still need more money from other channels for their ambitious plan to help save the pandas. Donation for panda adoption is one of the important channels for them to get fund from outside.
Different Ways of Adopting A Panda.
One year shared adoption: $600 US (A panda can be adopted by ten different people) One year private adoption: $6,000 US (A panda is adopted and named by only one person) One year group/company adoption: $6,000 US (A panda is adopted and named by one group or company) Life-time adoption depends on the practical situation(A panda is adopted and named by one person/company.The price will be different between individual and cooperate.)Benifits from Adopting a Panda:
After adopting a panda, you can enjoy the following benefits: A Panda Club membership gold card, panda button, semiannual Panda Club Magazine, an annual Panda Club gift, free admission to the Wolong Panda Garden, free photo taking with a giant panda during your adoption period.
