Jokhang Monastery

This is a temple older than Lhasa. Jokhang temple has a supreme position in Tibetan Buddhism.Unlike other temples, which belong to different sects, Jokhang temple is a sacred site for all Tibetan Buddhists. Combining Tibetan, tang, Nepalese and Indian styles, it has stood as a model of Tibetan religious architecture for more than 1,300 years.
 


 Norbulingka

As Lhasa's own "Summer Palace", Norbulingka has the best gardening art in this plateau.The fresh air and tranquil environment give it a unique natural taste of artisticTibetan .Every year during the Shoton Festival, Tibetan opera troupes from all over the country will gather here to perform to the public which attract travelers to come. "Three Great Monasteries in Lhasa"

I. Gandan Monastery



Gandan Monastery has a special status. it is  the Gelug Monastery founded by the founder of Gelug sect. The temple is built along the mountain.Once was described as "the walls have just been painted white, the halls are red, and the golden roofs are shining.All this looks like one integrated mass--by the fluttering cassock reflect, showing a magenta Buddha land."

II. Sera Monastery



Sera Monastery is located in the north suburb of Lhasa ,at the foot of salaouzi mountain. It is one of the three major temples in Lhasa and the second largest Monastery in Tibetan area.The Monastery is built in typical Tibetan style. A lot of Buddha statues precious art treasures such as scriptures, exquisite thangkas, barbolas and mural paintings.

III. Drepung Monastery



Drepung, literally means "rice pile" in Tibetan language, was once the power center of Tibet. It is the largest monastery in Tibet and has a very high position in Gelug. Every year in Shotun Festiveal, big ceremony will be held to attract enormous believers to come.

I. Namtso Lake



In Tibetan legend Namtso was a goddess who was in charge of the wealth of the northern Tibetan grasslands. But its scenery can not matched by any treasure made by human. Distant majestic white snow peaks are like unreal. When this pure land come to sleep, the star sky above Namtso is the heaven for photographers.

II. Yamdrok Lake



Yamdrok lake is 4,441 meters above sea level and covers an area of 648 square kilometers.The Yamdrok lake is like a blue hada(white silk)hovering between heaven and earth.Clear lake water, towering snow mountains and white clouds form into one, a cool world, pure jade, free from vulgarity.

III. Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain
